Berhan cultural and education center (BCEC) is a not-for-profit association which is operated & managed by parents and volunteers. The association is established to teach the Amharic language and promote Ethiopian heritage to Ethiopian kids in the diaspora. We have our Saturday school at Hope United Church from 1 pm to 4 pm. We also run multiple online classes per week. In addition to the Amharic classes for groups A, B & C, we also offer tutorial classes in Math for grade 1 – 8 students. Participation is only for members. Anyone can apply for membership, but the application has to be approved by the board. We offer volunteering opportunities for young people who love to work with kids and are committed to promoting disadvantaged social groups like immigrant kids.
