Amharic 

Berhan School was first established to teach the Amharic language to the Ethiopian diaspora living in the Halifax area. Most of Berhan School's students are from Ethiopia, one of the oldest countries in the world, rich in history and culture.

Group A 

Age 6-8 Grade 1&2

In this class, our students will learn and write the Amharic alphabet.

Group B

Age 8-10 Grade 3&4

In this Group, Students who already know the alphabet will start learning simple words and their meanings to improve their vocabulary and reading ability.

Group C

Age 9-12 Grade 5&6

In this Group, students will learn phrases and sentences and start reading story books in Amharic. 

Group D

Age 13-15 Grade 7-9 

In this Group, students will expand their Amharic vocabulary and continue to read Amharic stories.
